Misery

"Misery" is indeed a gripping psychological horror film based on the novel of the same name by Stephen King. The movie, directed by Rob Reiner and released in 1990, stars James Caan as Paul Sheldon, a famous author, and Kathy Bates as Annie Wilkes, his deranged number-one fan who rescues him from a car accident and then holds him captive in her remote home.
